Fun fact: Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins decided secretly that they’d play Hook and Smee as a gay couple. When Spielberg, the director, found out, he was furious.
I just think it’s hilarious.
The movie veteran tells Playboy magazine, “Bob Hoskins and I were rehearsing and suddenly we looked at each other and realised it at the same time. We said, ‘These guys are gay….’ and it was fun.
“Suddenly we rehearsed it that way: ‘Get over here, Smee. Give me a foot massage.’
“We went to Spielberg… and he said, ‘This is a kids’ movie.’” - Source
I find it very interesting that Spielberg finds a playful on screen homosexual couple more harmful towards children than a scene about killing yourself.
This is one of my favorite movies ever omfg srsly and it just gets better

“The scene in which all characters sit in a circle on the floor in the library and tell stories about why they were in detention was not scripted. John Hughes told them all to ad-lib.”

damn you this almost made me weep openly in public. Go to your room and think about what you did!The hardest part about watching this bit is definitely the cast breaking character slightly and openly crying as they hug goodbye. It’s not just a goodbye to Harry Potter for them, it’s a goodbye to friends, no A FAMILY who hasn’t seen each other in God knows how long. They don’t know when they’ll ever be able to get together like this again just to relax and have a drink or make another show. This group of people who started it all together, ended it all together and they couldn’t leave without a proper goodbye.

Sometimes I feel like the sun.
I burn too brightly and too hot.
You can’t get too close to me, or I’ll damage you.
You might enjoy basking in my glow, but after awhile it gets uncomfortable.
I’m too much to handle, and you’ve got to find some shade.
And I don’t blame you.
Being the sun is lonely.
